Craving, craving for more, craving for that we don't have, craving to get something beyond our limits, craving for appreciation, craving to be loved by someone, craving to get attention. Isn't it, the root cause of suffering?
Fear of loss, fear that we will lose something, that we have. Fear that we will not come up to the expectations of ourselves and of those who love us, who are important to us. Fear that we will be left behind. Fear that we will be left alone. Fear that we will feel lonely. Fear that we will fail to accomplish what we always wanted to achieve. Fear that we will be a no-one in this drowsy world. Fear that we will lose ourselves in the world. Fear that no one will ever care of us, and our work. Fear that no one will appreciate us. Fear that no one will ever love us. Fear that we will be hurted, ignored, criticized and insulted by the people.
Fear that 'they' will never recognize us, our contribution and
our more of the fear that we will lose what we have.... the ego, that we badly want to lose.
Do 'you' really?
And, even a step more, that's contradictory but true...we are afraid that we will 'succeed' one day and will be proved wrong in our own eyes by no one else but by 'ourselves', that we were wrong about ourselves that once we thought...we are worthless, we are useless, we are inferior, we are not good enough, we are ignorant, we are just a speck of dust in this universe.
We will be proved that..."We are more than good enough. We were born to be successful." And, we are afraid of it, upto death, because that will be the loss of the ego. That, we, badly, don't want to lose.
Do 'you' really?
Craving and fear accomplish each other. We crave for something that creates the fear of losing it. We fear something and it attracts us to accomplish it. Hence, the opposite of Love is not the Fear but it's "Indifference". Because only by becoming indifferent we can understand what fear is.
Only by becoming indifferent to what we fear we can realize fear is just an illusion. That the fear and craving give birth to each other. So that we can liberate ourselves both from the 'fear and craving' to experience ourselves as the Love and Life that 'We Really Are'.
