An artist designs his life in his own unique way. He paints the future on canvas of the present using experiences of the past. He learns from the mistakes of others to make him more humble to understand Reality.
An artist has nothing to lose as his only asset is his beautiful mind and that no one can take from him. He is free from success and failure as he knows that nothing lasts here neither success nor failure. His work is a tribute to the Self which he expresses as a gratitude for his skills.
Since he has nothing to show he is free from the turmoil of compliment and criticism. Since he doesn’t crave for more, much more comes out of him.
Since he doesn’t differentiate between divine and devil what’s truth comes out of him.
The way of an artist is like a way of a warrior who sharpens his weapons not missing a single day. He wakes up in the morning like a curious little child who doesn’t know anything and at night he sleeps like a baby satisfied by the peace that he learned something useful that day.
There may be pains in his life but he never suffers. As he sees joy and sorrow as parts of the same tree, he doesn’t get troubled by the sign of inevitable. His actions are swift as his mind is still. Even without saying a word, the stillness speaks through him. His mind is empty hence he doesn’t crave for gratification. He boasts of nothing as he knows he has nothing.
He does for what he has been made. Still, there is no doing as all is not for any stake. He embraces what is and discards what’s not, that makes him still to enjoy the eternal bliss.
The Way of the Artist is not unique that you cannot apply. And also it’s not in short supply. What matters to the Way is the swift response not reply.
An artist’s day is like the day of a child who observes and learns from his surroundings. His life is like a little sketchbook of empty pages on which he draws and writes. One page one day and the next for another day. His every inhale and exhale defines life and death. Since he is a creature of the present
he doesn’t have much admiration for the past and future.
He lives in the moment to see what is. Every morning new morning, each day new day. Every morning a new birth, every night full death. The next morning a new life. Now where is life and where is death. It’s a little part of an Artist’s living Way.
